Lessons with Mr. B.

Structured writing as discipline. Critical thinking as habit.
01
First, the problem

Writing is mostly taught wrong.

  • Worksheets ask for compliance.
  • Apps ask for streaks.
  • Algorithms ask for clicks.

A student needs writing that asks for thinking.

What if writing came in a case file?

A real role.
A real toolkit.
A real bar.

That's what's inside every kit.

The bar
Gold Standard

The bar is named. The bar is shown.

A finished, exemplary piece of writing lives inside every kit. The student doesn't guess what "good" looks like. They see it on paper, in the same voice they'll be writing in.

The kit also includes the rubric. The parent or instructor uses it to grade the student's final piece. Mr. B is the guide, not the grader.
04 · What gets built

A student who finishes a kit has three things they didn't have before.

Disciplined thinking. Confident expression. Independence.
